The Clinical Referral Guidelines (CRGs) aim to create a common point of reference for personal doctors (PD) in relation to issuing referrals to outpatient specialists for specific health conditions (diagnoses). The CRGs are a tool to support PDs for the application of good clinical practice rules and include instructions of a general nature which do not replace the physician's responsibility to evaluate each case individually.
The following CRGs have been formulated with the input of the Subcommittee on Primary Health Care for Adults, whose members represent both PD for adults as well as patients. The bibliography on which the CRG is based for each diagnosis is included in the guidelines.
